Overview

This course will teach you a great deal about safe driving.  However, completing a driver education course does not guarantee you will become a good driver.  That is a decision you must make each time you drive.  Driver’s Education will help you build a firm foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for safe driving.

  • Basic Car Control
  • Signs, Signals, and Roadway Markings
  • Making Safe Driving Decisions
  • Basic Car Maneuvers
  • Intersections
  • Natural Laws and Car Controls
  • Interacting with Cyclists
  • Adverse Conditions
  • Emergencies
  • Driver Condition and Risk
  • Alcohol, Other Drugs and Driving
  • Buying and Insuring a Car
  • Owning and Maintaining a Car

Requirements

Topics covered in the course will include:

  • Active Class Participation
  • Signed portion of the Parent/Guardian Letter returned by September 4, 2008.
  • Homework completed on time. Late work will not be accepted.
  • Weekly Passenger Log that is a written record of observations made while riding in a car

Please Note: In order to receive the Certificate of Completion required for a learners’ permit students must earn at least an 80% in the class.
