Overview
This class, as the High School Health Education State Standards specify, will cover many aspects of "Understanding the Process of Growth and Development". These topics include sexuality and other subjects relating to growth and development, as well as issues re: STDs. During the course of the class, presentations may include subject matter regarding tobacco, drug and alcohol prevention; STDs (sexually transmitted diseases); personal hygiene; behaviors that prevent disease and speed recovery from illness; promoting health in the family by taking positive, active role; cultivating positive relationships with peers; physical, mental, emotional and social changes that occurs through out life; developing sexuality; self-defense: and the benefits of abstinence from sexual activity, and how to be respectful of the sexuality of others.
