Girls Who Code, Nevada County
Who: Open to all 6th -12th grade girls
When: Spring Session Jan. 10, 2017, ends May 23, Tuesdays 4-6pm.
Plans are underway for a new session in the Fall of 2017
Where: Bitney Prep High School Computer Lab, Grass Valley, CA
Registration for Fall has not yet started. Updates will be posted here and on Facebook soon.
The current session of the Girls Who Code club ends on May 23. Club members are writing a web site to assist in the selection of pets, and we look forward to sharing a beta version in May.
Taught by local female instructors. Computers Provided. Co-sponsored by Rotary Club of Nevada City.
About Girls Who Code
The Girls Who Code Clubs Program teaches computer science to 6th-12th grade girls. It is a unique and scalable model that enables girls in each community to access fitting and challenging resources. The Girls Who Code Club provides:
Skills: Forty hours of instruction in computer science, with opportunities in Artificial Intelligence, cryptography, mobile development, game design and more.
Exposure: GWC Clubs host speakers, field trips and interaction with the local tech community.
Community: Girls gain friendships as they engage a supportive network of teachers, mentors, professionals, and fellow students.
