Goals/Vision Statement

Help students master technology skills needed for classwork at Bitney College Prep, for jobs now, and for after high school.
Help students acquire knowledge via the Internet about colleges and admissions.
Provide individualized paths for students interested in particular applications.
Help students understand that Technology is never “over.” There is no “fat lady to sing.” They need to be watching carefully to catch the new technology waves as they arrive, or else they may get sucked under.
Address ethical issues brought about by technology. Human values tend to be constant, whereas technology tends to be constantly changing, producing conflicts and temptations. Enron probably couldn’t have happened without spreadsheets and the Internet. Parents can now exercise control of kids by threatening to cut off their cell phones, and so on.
Make students aware of cultural changes brought about by technology.
