Fiona Baker from the Bitney Prep Class of 2024 is interning as a Marketing Intern at Elkin Education Marketing under the guidance of her mentor, former Bitney Prep teacher, Daniel Elkin.
Elkin Education Marketing is a full-service, small school marketing company that specializes in “telling the story of the school”. They specialize in targeting social media posts across all platforms to enhance a school’s “story”, writing, editing, and submitting articles to local news outlets, producing and distributing short videos about a school’s “story”, recruiting and training school ambassadors from current students, alumni, staff, and parents, and building networks in the community with businesses, government, nonprofits, and other entities. They also do Website design and updating, data collecting, and grant writing.
Fiona has been working with her mentor to enhance Bitney Prep’s marketing strategy by being the “boots on the ground” person at the school. She’s been conducting interviews with staff and students, taking pictures, designing memes, and brainstorming ideas. Fiona is also taking a marketing certification class, gaining important skills and information to help her market her own baking business.
