Student: Louie Jacobson
Louie Jacobson of the Class of 2021 has an internship at Nevada City School of the Arts working with Patti Howard, the speech and language specialist, as a mentor. Louie loves working with kids and helping Patti plan things out and set up lessons for the day. Louie is also learning about the particular diagnostic tests that Patti uses to asses student’s needs and progress, while also learning about physiology and articulation issues that affect some students’ ability to communicate clearly.
One of Louie’s favorite things to do at this internship is to play games with the students to help them with their particular issues around speech and communication. Louie thinks that any job where you can have fun while making a difference in the lives of others is the only job anyone should ever want.
